Visit Basilica of our lady of Ransom at Vallarpadam, famous Christian pilgrimage centre built in 1524 where people from all parts of India irrespective of caste and creed seek blessings of Mary, the mother of Jesus, popularly known as Vallarpadathamma. Later visit Crangannore (Kodungallur) famous for the Muziris Heritage Project, historically and culturally significant legendary port of Muziris dotted with numerous monuments of a bygone era that conjure up a vast and vivid past. Later visit Palayur Church, Acclaimed as the oldest church in India, Palayur Church is the earliest of the 7churches founded by Apostle St Thomas - the Apostle in 52AD. This church is at a small distance from Guruvayoor and has some exquisite stone lambs and a silver statue of St Thomas. Novena and mass is offered in the honor of St. Thomas every Tuesday drawing pilgrims from all over the state. Later visit Punnathur Kotta; the Elephant sanctuary teeming with more than 60 elephants of different ages offered by the pious devotees of Lord Guruvayoorappan, the abode of the famous temple at Guruvayoor. Start your day with a visit to a typical Kerala village – Kumbalangi, surrounded by backwaters & Chinese fishing nets literally encircle the island – village bearing witness to the rich aquatic life. An array of mangroves separate land from water providing a breeding ground for prawns, crabs, oysters and small fishes. The village which is 16 Sq.Km in area is home to fishermen, farmers, laborers, toddy tappers and coir spinners all alike. Afternoon proceed for a sightseeing tour of Cochin. Depart to Jew Street which is famous for the Jewish Synagogue and Jew Town. Visit St.Francis Church, first European church built in India in the early 16th century and the famed Vasco Da Gama was buried in this courtyard. Thereafter visit the Dutch Palace in Mattanchery.
